South Carolina Governor's Quality Award Conference

2008 Conference Information

The South Carolina Governor’s Quality Award Conference is held annually in October to present the South Carolina Governor’s Quality Award. Additional awards presented at the conference are the Milliken Medal of Quality and the South Carolina Champion of Excellence. Recognition is also given to companies participating in the South Carolina’s Governor’s Explorer Assessment.

2008 Conference Information
The South Carolina Governor’s Quality Award Conference will be held Wednesday, October 22, 2008. This year’s conference will be held at the Columbia Conference Center, 169 Laurelhurst Avenue, Columbia, SC. This year’s theme is Customer Service: A Passion for Excellence.

The conference will begin with a continental breakfast at 7:45 a.m. followed by the opening welcome and overview of the conference session and morning keynote speaker. Following that will be the concurrent breakout sessions. Immediately following the morning sessions, participants will gather for the luncheon that recognizes the conference sponsors, partners, and volunteers. Volunteers include individuals who have served as examiners, judges, steering committee members, and the advisory board.

After the luncheon we will continue with our afternoon keynote speaker, Harry Hertz, Executive Director of the Baldrige National Quality Program and the awards ceremony. The Honorable Governor Mark Sanford has been invited to present the 2008 awards. Individual presentations include the Milliken Medal of Quality and the Champion of Excellence Award. Also presented will be the Gold, Silver and Bronze Achiever awards and the 2008 Governor’s Quality Award.
