WINNER OF THE 2000 SOUTH CAROLINA GOVERNOR'S QUALITY AWARD

The South Carolina Quality Forum, administrators of the Governor's Quality Award program, announced that McLeod Regional Medical Center, a division of McLeod Health, has received the South Carolina Governor's Quality Award, the highest statewide recognition for excellence in quality management. McLeod Regional Medical Center has been selected for this top honor by demonstrating the vision of total quality leadership in their organization and  the State of South Carolina. 

J. Bruce Barragan, President and CEO of McLeod Health stated "Being named as the winner of this prestigious award is a reflection of the dedication and commitment that everyone at McLeod Health has to medical excellence. 

I am very proud of the efforts of our employees, physicians, volunteers, and Board of Trustees who constantly and with great integrity maintain the highest level of quality throughout McLeod Health."

Four other organizations will be recognized along with McLeod at this year's Governor's Quality Award Conference April 25, 2000 at the Sheraton Hotel and Convention Center in Columbia.  Dana Corporation had three divisions apply for the award and achieve recognition.   Dana's Spicer Heavy Systems Assembly Division of Lugoff is being recognized as a Gold Achiever, Spicer Driveshaft Division of Columbia will receive the Silver Achiever, and WIX Filtration Products of Dillon is a Bronze Achiever.

Standard Corporation Integrated Logistics of Columbia and Greenville is also being recognized as a Silver Achiever.

Governor Hodges will present this year's awards to all recipients, and recognize their accomplishments at the conference.
