2001 South Carolina Governor's Quality Award Winner Announced

The South Carolina Quality Forum, administrators of the Governor's Quality Award proudly announces Dana Corporation's WIX Filtration Division in Dillon, SC as the recipient of the 2001 South Carolina Governor's Quality Award.  This award is the highest level of recognition in the South Carolina State Quality Award process.

Ken McCutcheon, Plant Manager of Dana Corporation's WIX Filtration stated, " The people's commitment to continuous improvement and involvement in our quality journey is certainly validated with this special recognition."  The WIX Dillon facility has been a supporter and participant in the South Carolina Governor's Quality Award process for three years, achieving the Bronze Achiever level in 2000.

Another organization will be recognized at this year's Governor's Quality Award Conference, October 29, 2001 at the Sheraton Hotel and Convention Center in Columbia.  The South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation Department will receive the Silver Achiever Award. 

The South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation Department Commissioner, P. Charles LaRosa Jr. stated, "We are truly honored to be recognized by the South Carolina Quality Forum.  The process is quite challenging, from self-assessment right on through site visits by examiner teams.  This experience will help us continue to improve as an agency and confirms our belief that excellence is a journey, not a destination."

Governor Hodges will present the awards as he recognizes their accomplishments at the conference.  Also this year's conference will have two keynote speakers.  The Honorable Inez M.
