2003 South Carolina Governor's Quality Award
Winners Announced
The South Carolina Quality
Forum, administrator of the Governor's Quality Award, proudly announces
Robert Bosch Corporation’s of Anderson, S.C. and Standard Corporation
as the recipients of the 2003 South Carolina Governor's Quality
Awards. The process consists of multiple recognition levels along
with the Explorer Assessment process. This
award is the highest level of recognition in the South Carolina State
Quality Award process.
“This award is a real tribute to our associates, who manage
the core business process with a focus on continuous improvement in
process quality and customer service,” said Mike Mansuetti, vice
president of manufacturing at Bosch Anderson.
"We are extremely pleased to be the recipients of
the highest level of recognition in the Governor’s Quality Award
program,” said Bill Gates, chief executive officer of Standard
Corporation. “Our documented quality
processes and continuous improvement efforts are founded in the firm
belief that our focus on quality will ultimately lead to a competitive
advantage for our customers.
“This honor underscores the dedication and
excellence of the more than 2,800 Standard associates across the nation
who made this achievement possible,” Gates said.
Several
other organizations will also be recognized at this year's Governor's
Quality Award Conference to be held on October 20 at the Sheraton Hotel
and Convention Center in Columbia. Eaton Electrical's
Cutler-Hammer facility in Greenwood will receive the Gold Achiever
Award. Eaton has incorporated the Baldrige
criteria as the assessment part of its Eaton Business System (EBS), an
overall business strategy for operational excellence throughout the
corporation.
"While
our Greenwood employees have always had a focus on continuous
improvement, their efforts over the past three years and willingness to
embrace change has enabled us to position ourselves to achieve
outstanding results for when our markets recover," remarked Nadia
Morozowich, plant manager. “We are honored
to receive this recognition from the South Carolina Quality Forum for
our efforts, but we know that the journey is not over, we are just
beginning.”
South
Carolina Mentor is another recipient who participated
in the Explorer Assessment process in
2002.
