The South Carolina Explorer Assessment is perfect for organizations that are new to quality management systems, and feel they are ready for a beginning gap assessment.   This assessment goes through the same process as the SC Governor's Quality Award does; however, the level of effort is more aligned with those that are just starting out on their quality journey towards excellence.

 

This assessment evaluates in a broad-brush fashion an organization's level of maturity.  The assesment focuses on the following Baldrige categories: (1) Leadership, (2) Strategy, (3) Customer Focus, (4) Measurement and Knowledge Management, (5) Workforce Focus, and (6) Operations.  Section 7 of the Baldrige Criteria focuses on 'Results' where more mature organizations have better defined how they measure success.  This section is not assessed during the Explorer Assessment.
